      Weight Loss FAQs

Learn more about our weight loss programs by browsing our frequently asked questions.

Does the cost of medication go up with a higher dose?

Yes, the price of medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide does increase with higher dosages. For example, semaglutide starts at $199 for months 1-3 (0.25mg-1mg dose) and rises to $299/month for months 4+ (1.7mg-2.5mg dose).

Tirzepatide pricing begins at $299/month for months 1-3 (2.5mg-7.5mg dose) and $399/month for months 4-6 (10mg-15mg dose).

What happens if my provider advises that this medication isn’t suitable for me?

If our provider finds that this medication isn’t appropriate for your health needs, we will notify you right away and provide a full refund. Your safety is our highest priority.

Can I keep using the dose I’m currently on from another provider?

Yes, as long as you can show proof of a current prescription that was administered in the last two weeks, we can continue at your existing dosage. During your consultation, please share your treatment details so our provider can confirm the best dosage for you.

Do you accept health insurance for your weight loss programs?

At this time, we do not accept insurance. However, we offer flexible payment options and transparent pricing. If you’re using our weight loss services, we can help with prior authorization paperwork if your insurance covers anti-obesity medications.

Are FSA and HSA accepted as payment options?

Yes, you can use Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to pay for services, including our weight loss programs.

      Does Tirzepatide affect birth control?

Yes. Tirzepatide can make oral contraceptives less effective. It is recommended that you use a non-hormonal backup method of birth control-such as condoms-for 4 weeks after starting treatment and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.

The 4 Pillars to Weight Loss

Our weight loss programs are built on a comprehensive 4-pillar approach to ensure you have the tools you need for every part of your journey.

      Medications

Professionally prescribed medications may help you lose weight and maintain that loss in the long term. Remember that medications will have the best possible results when you follow all 4 of our pillars to weight loss.

      Physical Activity

Increasing your physical activity levels can support your weight loss efforts and help relieve stress. Remember to start at your own pace, then work yourself up to more intense or more frequent workouts as your body becomes ready.

      Behavioral Changes

It is important to make any needed changes to your habits and to stay accountable with yourself throughout this experience. There are many ways to stay accountable, like journaling or engaging your family in your health journey.

      Nutritional Therapy

Safely reducing your calorie intake and switching to healthier food options can help you lose weight, improve your skin, and boost your energy. We can share some of our favorite, tasty, healthy recipes during our weight loss visits.

      Physical Activity Tips

Regular exercise can help you lose weight and keep it off! If you’re ready to increase your physical activity levels, we recommend the following:

      • Resistance training or strength training twice a week.
      • Taking 5,000 to 10,000 steps per day.
      • 150-300 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week or 75-150 minutes of intense aerobic activity per week.

      Nutritional Advice

To support your journey during your weight loss programs (and to help avoid nausea), consider eating within a calorie deficit, practicing intermittent fasting, and/or following the Mediterranean Diet.

      Intermittent Fasting

Many patients see good results when they combine weight loss medication with intermittent fasting during their weight loss programs. These eating habits can fit into any lifestyle fairly easily. You can start with a 12-hour fasting window and a 12-hour eating window, then close that to a 16-hour fasting window and an 8-hour eating window.

Intermittent Fasting for Beginners Facebook Group

      Mediterranean Diet

After your virtual visit to start our weight loss programs, our team will send you information about the Mediterranean Diet. This is not a diet with specific recipes. Instead, the Mediterranean Diet is a style of eating that supports healthy fats, lean meats/fish, and lots of vegetables.

      Avoiding Nausea

During your weight loss journey, you may experience some nausea due to overeating, eating too fast, or eating foods that are high-fat, high-sugar, or highly processed. To avoid this, it is best to limit your intake of these foods. Using a 24-hour food journal can help you pinpoint foods that exacerbate your nausea.

Nausea may also be a side effect of your weight loss medication because your stomach will slow down and keep food in longer. In this case, we can prescribe anti-nausea medications (like Zofran or Phenergan) or teach you how to do a half dose. To decrease the risk of this side effect, we recommend increasing your fiber, protein, and water intake.
